ABOUT: Campbelltown Sister Cities Association
High school aged students from Koshigaya will soon be visiting Campbelltown to learn about our way of life as part of the Campbelltown and Koshigaya sister cities relationship.
The trip, which is coordinated by the Campbelltown-Koshigaya Sister Cities Association and supported by Campbelltown City Council, will see the students live with local families for about two weeks, as well as visit significant cultural landmarks such as Koshigaya Park and the Japanese Tea House at Campbelltown Arts Centre.
Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Aaron Rule, said the Campbelltown and Koshigaya sister cities relationship was one of the most successful in the country and the exchange helped strengthen the bond between the two cities.
“It’s not just the visiting students who get a lot out of the program, but the host families who develop new and long lasting friendships,” Cr Rule said.
“The exchanges have been an important part of the sister city relationship for many years and have helped enhance our local community.
“I encourage all residents who see any of the visiting students to make them feel welcome in Campbelltown.”
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the sister city relationship between Campbelltown and Koshigaya.
